This policy explains how MRF Corp Limited (“MRF Paints”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use www.mrfpaint.com, contact us, request a sample or service, or register a warranty. We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and other laws that apply in India.
1. Who we are
MRF Corp Limited, Tarapore Towers, V Floor, 826 Anna Salai, Chennai 600 002, Tamil Nadu, India. For this website, we decide why and how your personal data is used, so we are the “Data Fiduciary” under Indian law.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect only what we need for the request you make. The table shows what each part of the website asks for.

Collected automatically
- Usage and device data: pages visited, links clicked, approximate location, browser and device type, and how you arrived at the site, collected with Google Analytics.
- Advertising data: we use the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertisements lead to enquiries, and to show MRF Paints advertisements to people who have visited the site.
- Campaign and IP data: when you arrive from an advertisement or campaign link, we record the campaign details and your IP address in a cookie, so that an enquiry can be linked to the campaign.
- Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a form is sent by a person rather than a bot.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we use your personal data
We use your personal data only for the purpose you gave it for, as listed above, and to:
- respond to you and keep a record of our conversation;
- pass your request to an authorised MRF dealer or painter who can help you;
- send you information about MRF products and offers, but only if you have agreed to this, and you can stop it at any time;
- improve the website and measure our marketing;
- protect the website against fraud and misuse; and
- meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit a form, and on the other lawful grounds the law allows, such as meeting a legal obligation or honouring a warranty you have registered. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 7). Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- Authorised MRF dealers and painters, so they can contact you about a sample, inspection, painter request or purchase you asked about.
- Service providers who process data for us, under contract and only on our instructions: our customer-enquiry system (Cratio CRM), website hosting (GoDaddy), email (Microsoft 365), and analytics, advertising and spam-protection tools from Google and Meta.
- Government or law-enforcement authorities, when the law requires us to.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside India. When that happens, we take steps to make sure your data stays protected and is transferred only as Indian law permits.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as the law requires. For example, we keep warranty records for as long as the warranty lasts, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our systems, and contracts with our service providers. No website can be completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Under Indian law you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to erase it, unless we must keep it by law or to honour a warranty;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to; and
- raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied with our response, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, write to the Grievance Officer below. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will respond as soon as we can, and within the time the law requires.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies, which the website needs to work, for example to submit forms securely;
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics), to understand how the site is used; and
- Advertising cookies (Meta pixel, Google Ads, campaign tracking), to measure and show our advertisements.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage the advertisements Meta shows you in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you block essential cookies.
9. Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. If you think a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as our dealer locator, YouTube and social media pages. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will show a notice on the website.
