- Ensure that the surface is clean and free from dampness, dirt and other contamination.
- Sand the surface using #180 sandpaper and clean thoroughly. Ensure that no loose particles are sticking to the wall.
- For areas severely affected by algae and fungi, ensure that the surface is completely cleaned before initiating the painting process
- Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. The coating process can be started after a minimum period of 30 days.
For Interior Walls:
- Ensure that fresh walls are coated with one or two coats of white cement.
- Apply 2 coats of AquaFresh Wall Primer with an interval of 4 – 5 hrs. between subsequent coats.
- Undulations in the wall can be levelled using any good quality acrylic putty or cement-based putty.
- Sanding of the first and second coat of Aquafresh Wall Primer can be done using #320 sandpaper.
- Topcoat can be applied after an interval of 4 – 5 hrs. of the second coat of AquaFresh Wall Primer.
For Exterior Walls:
- Ensure that fresh walls are coated with one or two coats of white cement.
- Apply 1 to 2 coats of AquaFresh Wall Primer with an interval of 4 – 5 hrs between subsequent coats.
- Sanding of the second coat of AquaFresh Wall Primer can be done using #320 sandpaper.
- Topcoat can be applied after an interval of 4 – 5 hrs of the second coat of AquaFresh Wall Primer.
Stir well before thinning the Paint

About AquaFresh PU Wall Primer
AquaFresh PU Wall Primer is MRF Paints’ single-pack, water-based polyurethane primer for cement-plastered interior and exterior walls. It has high opacity and good coverage, seals the wall and improves the adhesion and finish of the topcoat. It is GreenPro certified.
It is the recommended primer for the AquaFresh range, including AquaFresh Interior, AquaFresh Exterior and AquaFresh Cool.

Can I use AquaFresh PU Wall Primer outside?
Yes. It is a 2-in-1 primer for both interior and exterior cement-plastered walls.
How many coats do I need?
1-2 coats, 4-5 hours apart. Scuff the second coat with emery paper No. 320 before the topcoat.
How much area does one litre cover?
About 85-95 sq ft per litre per coat, depending on the surface.
Which topcoats go on it?
The AquaFresh range: AquaFresh Interior, AquaFresh Exterior and AquaFresh Cool.
When can I prime a newly plastered wall?
After the plaster has cured for at least 30 days. Apply between 20 and 40 degrees C with humidity below 75%.
