- Ensure that the surface is clean and free from dampness, dirt and other contamination.
- Sand the surface using #180 sandpaper and clean thoroughly. Ensure that no loose particles are sticking to the wall.
- For areas severely affected by algae and fungi, ensure that the surface is completely cleaned before initiating the painting process.
- Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. The coating process can be started after a minimum period of 30 days.
- Available in matte and sheen finishes. (Application: Exterior Walls)
For Interior Walls:
- Apply 2 coats of Altura Wall Primer with an interval of 4-5 hours between subsequent coats.
- Undulations in the wall can be levelled with MRF VILASA Wall putty.
- Putty should be used between the first and second coat of Altura Wall Primer and sanding of the putty shall be done as per recommendation.
- Apply 2 coats Altura 2-in-1 Acrylic Emulsion with an interval of 4-5 hours between subsequent coats, after subjecting the second coat of Altura Wall Primer to sanding using sandpaper #320.
- Sanding of the topcoat can be done with sandpaper #600.
- The number of coats of topcoats depends on the chosen colour. Darker shades may require additional coats.
For Exterior Walls:
- Apply 1-2 coats of Altura Wall Primer with an interval of 4-5 hours between subsequent coats.
- Sanding of first and second coat of Altura Wall Primer can be done with sandpaper #320.
- Apply 2 coats of Altura 2-in-1 Acrylic Emulsion with an interval of 4-5 hours between subsequent coats.

About Altura 2-in-1 Acrylic Emulsion
Altura 2-in-1 is MRF Paints’ water-based acrylic emulsion for both exterior and interior walls. On exterior walls it resists microbial growth and gives high durability and washability, in matte or sheen finishes. It is GreenPro certified and low in odour.
It is available in 1,110 Nebula shades and carries a 6-year performance warranty, with a separate 3-year warranty against algae and fungal growth.

Which primer should I use with Altura on exterior walls?
1-2 coats of Altura 2-in-1 Wall Primer, 4-5 hours apart, sanding with #320, then 2 coats of Altura.
How much does one litre cover outside?
About 60-70 sq ft per litre for two coats on exterior walls, according to the MRF data sheet.
What warranty does Altura have?
A 6-year performance warranty against fading, flaking and peeling, and a separate 3-year warranty against algae and fungal growth on exterior walls, when you register the purchase. Warranty validity is subject to compliance with prescribed application procedures, site conditions, and warranty terms.
What does ‘2-in-1’ mean?
The same Altura emulsion can be used on both exterior and interior walls. It is not a paint and primer in one, so apply it over Altura 2-in-1 Wall Primer.
How should I thin it?
With 30-40% potable water. Apply thinned paint within 24 hours.
