FAQs
How do I apply FreshWood Interior?
Make sure the wood is clean, dry and free from moisture. For hardwood, sand with #80, then #120, #150, #180 and #220; for veneer ply, start at #220. Always sand along the grain. Apply one coat of MRF Epoxy Isolant Sealant. Then apply 2-3 coats of FreshWood Interior Sealer Clear, about 2 hours apart, sanding before each coat (#220 first, then #400). Finish with 2 coats of Glossy or Matt Clear, 5 hours apart, sanding the first with #600.
Can I add colour to the wood grain?
Yes. MRF Woodstains Interior shades can be applied over the first or second coat of Sealer Clear. Do not sand after applying the stain.
How much does one litre cover?
About 75-80 sq ft per litre per coat, according to the MRF data sheet. It varies with the application method and how absorbent the wood is.
What is the difference between FreshWood Interior and FreshWood Exterior?
Both are two-pack PU clear wood finishes. FreshWood Exterior is made for outdoor wood, with better UV resistance and longer recoat times.
How long should it dry?
It is tack free in about 1 hour and hard dry in 8 hours. Apply between 25 and 40 degrees C, with humidity below 75%.
