The surface to be coated should be clean and free from contamination
Mill scale and rust should be completely removed either by mechanically abrading the surface or through abrasive blast clean technique
The substrate should be free from dew as it directly relates to premature product failure
Mix the base thoroughly prior to mixing with the hardener
Avoid applying in direct sunlight or when the humidity is very high

About MC+
MC+ is MRF Paints’ two-pack polyurethane (PU) multi-surface finish for metal, wood and other surfaces. It is 100% PU with an anti-ageing formula and is salt spray test certified, giving strong protection against corrosion, moisture, heat and stains.
MC+ is available in 2,000 shades, and its bases are also used to tint more than 3,000 MetalCoat shades.

- Metal gates, grills, railings and structures that need strong corrosion protection
- Wood and other surfaces that need a hard-wearing PU finish
- Surfaces exposed to heat, moisture or grease

What does ‘salt spray test certified’ mean?
It means MC+ has been tested for resistance to salt-laden, corrosive conditions, which matters for metal near the sea or in industrial areas.
How much area does one litre of MC+ cover?
About 80-85 sq ft per litre per coat.
How do I mix MC+?
Mix the base thoroughly, then add the hardener at 4:1 for opaque glossy and metallic shades or 6:1 for opaque matt shades. Use the mixture within 4 hours, and leave 8 hours between coats.
How do I prepare the surface for MC+?
Clean it so it is free from contamination and remove all mill scale and rust. On rusted metal, sand off loose rust and apply one coat of Epidec RTC (Rust Tolerant Coat) Primer before the topcoat.
What is the difference between MC+ and MetalCoat?
Both are two-pack polyurethane multi-surface finishes with the same coverage and recoat time. MC+ is offered in 2,000 shades; MetalCoat is MRF’s luxury PU topcoat with 54 factory shades, and MC+ bases are used to tint its 3,000+ additional shades.
